Donchak resigns from SV School Board; Dr. Anne Cadau appointed to seat

SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Valley School Board now has two doctors on board.

At the board’s regular meeting on Jan. 17, they retroactively accepted the resignation of Michael Donchak from the board, effective Jan. 2.

Donchak was appointed to the board in February of 2023, filling the remainder of Maggie Shustack’s term. Shustack retired after 19 years of service to the district and had the remainder of the year left in her four-year term.

Donchak ran for re-election this past November and won, retaining his seat.

No reason for the resignation was provided at that meeting.

At a special meeting on Tuesday, the board approved the appointment of Dr. Anne P. Cadau to fill the remainder of Donchak’s term.

Cadau was not present at the meeting. With a doctorate in medicine, she joins Jodi Loughlin as members of the board with doctorate degrees. Loughlin’s doctorate is in education.
