RINGTOWN – State Police released information Tuesday on an altercation last month in which a man inappropriately touched a female bartender, was struck by another man for it, and both men are facing charges.

Troopers said Tuesday they were called for an assault on Oct. 27 just before 11pm at a bar on East Main Street.

Darl Friend, 49, of Lansford, had put his hand down the shirt of a bartender and touched her inappropriately, troopers said.

He was confronted in the parking lot by Matthew Schlauch, 35, of Ringtown, who struck Friend in the face.

Charges were filed against both men Monday, according to court documents.

Friend is facing one count of misdemeanor indecent assault and two counts of summary harassment, while Schlauch is facing one count of misdemeanor simple assault and one count of summary harassment.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 13 before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli in Frackville.
