No one transported from Helfenstein crash

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - The scene of Thursday's crash near Helfenstein.

HELFENSTEIN – No one required transportation to a local hospital after a car struck a school van and an SUV near this Butler Township village Thursday.

The crash happened in the 700 block of High Road around 4:30pm.

Butler Township Police at the scene said a Ford Fusion was headed west towards Helfenstein and crossed into the oncoming lane, striking a Ford E-Series van and a Chevy Equinox.

The E-Series van is a Shamokin Area School District van and was transporting a basketball team to a summer tournament.

Police said no one was injured to the point they required transportation to a hospital. Some occupants were evaluated and treated at the scene by Ashland Ambulance, police said, but specifics were still being gathered.

Responding to the scene were Lavelle firefighters, Ashland EMS, and Ashland and Butler Township Police.
