Maizeville brush fire rekindles

MAIZEVILLE – Firefighters were back in this section of Gilberton borough Friday afternoon after Thursday’s fire rekindled.

Crews were called back out to Main Street and High Road between Maizeville and Mahanoy Plane around 4:00pm for a rekindle.

Arriving firefighters found the burn pile which had ignited the previous night’s blaze had caught fire again.

In short order, Gilberton’s Continental Fire Co. engine arrived and firefighters extinguished the burn pile.

Also responding were firefighters from Mahanoy Plane’s American Fire Co.
