SHENANDOAH – Students from our three local school districts participated in a virtual town hall with State Rep. Tim Twardzik (R-123).

Jesse Carl and Luke Matta from Shenandoah Valley, Isabella Kramer and James Leary from Mahanoy Area, and Megan Reidler and Caileigh Kaminski from North Schuylkill participated in the town hall, along with Mahanoy Superintendent Joie Green and Shenandoah Principal Stu Tripler.

Twardzik discussed a variety of topics regarding his role in Harrisburg, and students had the opportunity to ask questions as well.

Topics students asked about included the coronavirus pandemic, the state budget, changes in schools to bring students back in person, mental health issues and bipartisanship

Harry Mathias from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association arranged and facilitated the Town Hall which serves as a PSBA Show Them What It Takes event focused on linking legislators with school personnel and students regarding school issues.
