HS BASEBALL: Devils fall to Minersville in district playoffs

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Valley’s baseball season came to a close in the first round of the District XI Playoffs.

The 10-10 Devils hosted the 10-10 Battlin’ Miners of Minersville at Marty DeLuca Field Wednesday afternoon.

Minersville held the lead throughout much of the game, taking a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning after a rain delay.

Shenandoah Valley rallied back, knotting the game at three apiece to send it into extra innings.

The Miners, however, would score again in extras and Shenandoah couldn’t find an answer, falling 5-3.

Minersville moves on to face Tri-Valley at Pine Grove Sunday afternoon.
