GIRARDVILLE – This year’s Girardville St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set to step off at noon on March 28, and it’s theme this year will celebrate our veterans.

The theme this year is “Salute to Our Veterans,” the parade announced on Facebook.

Additionally, a former National Guard chaplain and Girardville native will serve as grand marshal.

Rev. Lt. Col. Edward Coyle (Ret.) was announced as the grand marshal. He serves as national chaplain of the Catholic War Veterans, the parade page said.

According to the parade’s website, Coyle served in the PA Army National Guard for over two decades while serving as a priest and pastor before retiring from the guard in 2014.

This year’s parade will be split into five divisions, according to the website, and the parade committee is still seeking floats, vendors, and participants. Information can be found at their website, www.girardvilleirishparade.com.
