NORTH MANHEIM TWP. – Charges are pending against a Mahanoy City man, accused of driving under the influence with three children in the car when he crossed the median and crashed into two other cars this afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:30pm, troopers at Schuylkill Haven said, in the area of Route 61 and Tumbling Run Road in North Manheim Township.

Bernard Schuck, 31, of Mahanoy City was headed southbound on 61 in a 2008 Suzuki XL-7 when he crossed the media and was struck by a 2013 Chevy Silverado, and immediately after by a 2005 Kia Sorento.

Schuck was driving with front seat passenger and three young children in the back seat when the crash happened, and troopers said he was not wearing his seatbelt.

He was transported by Schuylkill EMS to Geisinger for treatment of suspected serious injuries, troopers added, and DUI charges will be filed pending blood test results.

It is not known if the drivers of the other two vehicles or the other occupants of the Suzuki were injured.
