ASHLAND – The scholastic sports season for next year is still largely up in the air, but that isn’t stopping some local football players from preparing.

About a dozen kickers from 8th through 12th grades came out to Ashland’s Memorial Field at Centre Street and Memorial Boulevard for a clinic, learning and practicing the ins-and-outs of kicking.

The clinic was hosted by Kick It and Coach John Zima, owner and operator.

Zima demonstrated for the students, from near and far, different drills and forms to help prepare for the 2020 fall football season.

According to Kick It’s website, Zima “has coached ranked Ray Guy Award punters, and multiple All Patriot League kickers and punters,” and supervises the selection process for specialists in the annual Big 33 All-Star game.
