WILLIAM PENN – A boil advisory has been issued for several villages west of Shenandoah due to a water main break, according to a notice from Aqua Pennsylvania Saturday afternoon.

Aqua says 400 customers are under a boil water advisory due to a water main break that occurred at midday.

The water main break is being repaired and the advisory is in effect until further notice.

The areas affected include the villages of William Penn, Lost Creek, Lost Creek #2, Connerton, Rappahannock, and MABS customers on North 2nd Street in Girardville borough.

Customers in the affected area should boil their water for at least a minute before drinking, or use bottled water, and such treated water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, dish washing, and food preparation until further notice.

Aqua maintains an outage map on their website to monitor for advisories and updates.
