SHENANDOAH – Every county in our area is under a fire weather watch Tuesday beginning at 11am.

The National Weather Service at State College issued the watch for Schuylkill, Columbia, and Northumberland counties.

The NWS in Binghamton, New York, and Mount Holly, New Jersey, issued similar watches for Luzerne and Carbon counties respectively.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70s to lower 80s, with humidity as low as 20 to 25 percent with northwest winds between 10 and 20mph. Gusts up to 25mph are possible, especially over higher terrain.

The weather service said rapid wildfire growth and spread is expected, and outdoor burning is not recommended.

The fire weather watches are in effect from 11am until 8pm.

Outdoor burning of any kind is prohibited in Shenandoah regardless of weather conditions.
