In one-minute special meeting, Shen. Valley hires high school English teacher

SHENANDOAH – In what could likely be considered one of the quickest board meetings ever, Shenandoah Valley filled a teaching vacancy Monday night.

The Shenandoah Valley School District Board of Education convened a special meeting Monday night at 6pm with one item on the agenda.

With no members of the public in attendance to comment, and no report from Superintendent Brian Waite, the board took action to hire a high school English teacher.

The board voted 6-0 to hire Jessica Reynolds for the 2022-23 school year at a salary of $51,060, Masters Step 9, prorated.

Voting in favor of the hire were members Leslie Gilroy, Karen Kayes, Jodi Loughlin, Anita Monahan, John Petritsch, and Daniel Salvadore. Joseph Buchanan, Helene Creasy, and Margaret Shustack were absent.

Following the vote, the board voted to adjourn the meeting at 6:01pm.
