Borough passes 2023 budget with no tax increase
SHENANDOAH – Borough property taxes will remain the same for the seventh year in a row.
Borough council approved the 2023 budget at a special meeting Thursday evening.
Tony Sajone, borough manager, said the final budgets are balanced at $2,236,084 for the general fund and $1,192,745 for the sewer fund.
Taxes will remain at 27 mills. The rate has not been raised since 2016.
Sajone said increases will be coming for sewer and trash bills. Sewer bills will increase to $135 per quarter and trash will increase to $166 every six months.
The sewer increase relates to the planned replacement of the Shenandoah Sewer Treatment Plant near William Penn, and the trash increase is the result of increased fees at the landfill, Sajone said.
