HS SOFTBALL: Devils fall 15-2 in home opener against Weatherly

SHENANDOAH – The Lady Devils opened Schuylkill League play Tuesday with a loss.
Shenandoah Valley hosted Weatherly at Bicentennial Park on the east end.
The Wreckers took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, a lead that would remain unchanged until the fourth inning.
Weatherly mustered nine innings in a big fourth inning, answered by a single Shenandoah Valley run to make it 11-1 entering the fifth.
The Wreckers added another four, answered again by a single Devils’ run to make it 15-2.

Giana Troutman and Jocelyn Chagolla had hits for the Devils, the latter also scoring an RBI.
Pitching duties were split between Aubrie Monaghan and Troutman. Monaghan had six strikeouts and allowed five runs off four hits. Troutman had three strikeouts and allowed ten runs off six hits.
The Devils are back in action Wednesday at Jim Thorpe.
