Schuylkill, area counties to help kick off U.S. 250th Celebration in Pennsylvania

POTTSVILLE – Schuylkill County will do its part to help kick off Pennsylvania’s celebration of our nation’s 250th Anniversary next weekend.

America250PA is embarking on a 67-county tour with a stop in Schuylkill County on Sunday, Jan. 18.

“This celebration is for everyone in our community, to reflect on our past and to spark excitement for the future,” said Gary Hess, Schuylkill County Commissioner. “We welcome all residents and visitors to be part of this historic kick-off.”

The event will take place from 9am to 10:30am at the courthouse in Pottsville.

America250PA representatives will have opening remarks and offer information about their activities while county and state officials will also offer a few words and info on county and community activities.

Attendees are asked to RSVP.

Other tour stops in ShenSentinel-area counties include:

  • Luzerne County: Sunday, Jan. 18 from 6pm to 8pm at the Luzerne County Courthouse in Wilkes-Barre;
  • Columbia County: Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 10am to 11:30am at The Hub at Mulberry Mills, 160 West 6th Street, Bloomsburg;
  • Northumberland County: Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.
