DRUMS – An 18-year-old Sugarloaf Township man is facing burglary charges after police say he swiped an ATV in Butler Township, Luzerne County and was found in our area.
The theft happened in the early morning hours of Nov. 5 on Sleepy Hollow Road in Drums.
Aiden Norris, 18, of Sugarloaf, was charged Sunday with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and loitering/prowling at nighttime.
According to Butler Township Police, shortly after the theft, the stolen ATV was caught on camera in Nuremberg.
It was recovered the next day around 9am at Larock Fields in Sugarloaf Township when the driver of the ATV ran and fled in a white Honda Civic with out-of-state plates.
A few days before, Norris had been driving the same car and was cited for traffic violations.
Witnesses told police that Norris said he planned to steal the vehicle and had seen him driving it. Another person urged him to return the ATV and he said he would leave it at Larock Fields.
