PSP: Motorcyclist crashed on recently tarred-and-chipped Route 42, flown to hospital
CENTRALIA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured when state troopers say he wrecked his bike on a recently tarred-and-chipped Route 42 last Tuesday.
State Police at Bloomsburg released information on the crash Monday.
According to troopers, Alan Clouser, 70, of West Reading was heading south on Route 42 on a 2021 Moto Guzzi V85 at the Conyngham Township/Centralia Borough line when he lost control of the bike on a downhill left turn.
“Due to the road recently being tarred and chipped, [Clouser] was unable to maneuver [his bike] back onto the roadway,” troopers said.
Clouser was wearing a helmet, though the helmet came off in the crash.
Troopers said he and his bike were found in a ditch along the highway.
He was taken to a landing zone by Ashland medics and flown to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville by Lehigh Valley MedEvac.
