Bloomsburg woman arrested for attempted knife attack

BLOOMSBURG – A Bloomsburg woman is in Columbia County prison after police there say she swung a knife at a man and threatened to stab him.
Ciarasade Michelle Tate, 35, of Bloomsburg, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, and disorderly conduct by Bloomsburg Police.
According to Bloomsburg Police, officers were called to the area of 78 Fort McClure Boulevard in the town around 6pm Friday for a report of a woman waving a knife at people.
Officers arrived on scene and found Tate in the road with a knife in her hands. Police said she was visibly irate, yelling, and moving around frantically.
When asked to throw the knife down, police said she did.
The victim said Tate was on her property and was seen near the Susquehanna River with the knife. She came up towards the man and swung the knife at him with enough force to knock the phone out of his hand.
She also made statements saying she would stab him.
She was arraigned and committed to Columbia County Prison, unable to post $40,000 bail.
