Shenandoah man with ties to Latin Kings arrested in Lehigh Valley

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Lehigh County – A Shenandoah man who State Police say has ties to the Latin Kings is facing felony charges after an incident in the Lehigh Valley earlier this month.

State Police at Bethlehem said Thursday that Michael Gabino, 28, of Shenandoah, was stopped by troopers on U.S. 22 West in South Whitehall Township around 4:30pm May 12.

Troopers said they found Gabino had several firearms in his vehicle at the time of the stop.

Gabino, troopers said, has several felony convictions from New York and that “a crimincal gang member warning was attached to his criminal history.”

That warning, troopers said, indicated he was a known member of the Latin Kings.

Gabino was charged with felony prohibited possession of a firearm, felony firearms not to be carried without a license, and two summary traffic and vehicle equipment violations.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Howells, Allentown, and committed to Lehigh County Prison on $25,000 cash bail.

Gabino posted bail on May 16 and is free, awaiting a preliminary hearing on July 17 before Magisterial District Judge in Dorneyville, Lehigh County.
