GIRARDVILLE – The bad luck for the scheduled day of the Girardville St. Patrick’s Day Parade continues.

Since 2017, it’s been winter weather or the coronavirus pandemic keeping the parade from stepping off as scheduled.

This year, it’s rain.

Parade organizers have delayed the parade to April 1 at noon. It was originally scheduled to step off this Saturday, March 25.

According to the parade’s website, the cause is inclement weather.

The National Weather Service at State College forecasts an 80% chance of rain in Girardville on March 25.

The parade has been plagued with delays since 2017. Winter weather forced back-to-back delays in 2017 and 2018, and then the coronavirus pandemic outright cancelled the celebration in 2020 and 2021.
