SHENANDOAH – Several years ago, Shenandoah Valley created a plaque, the first of its kind, to honor the graduates of the current high school and its two predecessors who went on to serve the Commonwealth as State Troopers.

That plaque, recognizing the 55 graduates of Shenandoah, Shenandoah Valley, and West Mahanoy Township High Schools who served in the Pennsylvania State Police, as donated by the high school student council and was the only one of its kind in the state.

Two retired state troopers from the Nanticoke area, Stanley Jezewski and Chet Zaremba, inspired by Shenandoah Valley’s plaque, gave our school a visit and decided to have one created for their local school.

Paul Wazenski, Hanover Township, volunteered to design that plaque and also visited SV.
