Police: Four injured in shooting near Hazleton park

HAZLETON – Four people went to a Hazleton hospital via personal vehicles with various injuries, including gunshot wounds, after a shooting near Altmiller Park in this Luzerne County city Sunday.

Hazleton Police said they were called to the area of 11th Street and North Manhattan Court around 5pm for a report of a fight and shots fired. That is in the area of Altmiller Park and the Hazleton Elementary/Middle School.

Multiple spent bullet casings were found in the area as were signs that someone had been injured.

Officers began canvassing the area and located multiple video sources and additional evidence near Laurel and 11th streets.

Witnesses in the area told police that the injured individuals were taken to the hospital by personal vehicles.

Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton notified police that four people had been brought to their emergency room with various injuries, including gunshot wounds.

City Police said all assailants in the incident have been identified and all are either in custody or in the hospital.
