Morea Park upgrades underway

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - New playground equipment at the Morea Park is seen on Feb. 17, 2023.
MOREA – Upgrades are underway at the Morea Park, thanks to a $45,000 grant, Mahanoy Township supervisors said at last week’s meeting.
New playground equipment has been installed and site work continues at the park.

Supervisors Chairman Ted Styka said the project is expected to wrap up in the spring with the installation of a new parking area and access paths.
In other business, supervisors provided an update on a new police vehicle.
A Chevrolet Tahoe is currently being upfitted to replace the Mahanoy Township Police Department’s 2017 Ford Explorer, which Styka said was totalled in a vehicle accident.
