Morea Park improvements wrap up; township approves tentative budget

MOREA – Improvements at the park here are complete and Mahanoy Township has a tentative budget with no tax increase, supervisors said at Thursday’s meeting.
The park, located off Roosevelt Park, received new playground equipment, ADA paths, and an ADA parking space, among others improvements.
The improvements were funded by a grant, the township said.
Supervisors also approved their tentative budget at Thursday’s meeting with no tax increase.
The tentative budget has $601,140 in revenue and $653,812 in expenses. Supervisors said the shortfall is due to planned road projects, which will dip into built-up liquid fuels funds
