KU still planning on March 23 restart

MAXATAWNY TWP., Berks County – Kutztown University in Berks County is still planning to restart classes on March 23 as announced on March 11.

KU announced the decision Friday afternoon, noting that residence halls will reopen March 22 at 1:00pm.

“The health and wellness of our campus community continues to be our top priority.  All of our actions, whether directed by our governor, State System chancellor, or set by our administration, are made in the best interest of the campus and surrounding community,” KU President Kenneth Hawkinson said in a the announcement.

All internships for credit, clinicals, and student teaching assignments will continue as long as the host institution is open for business, the university continued.

Faculty are preparing to move classes online should the move be necessary, and all administrative offices remain open on a regular operating schedule.

Spring commencement remains May 8 and 9.
