HS SOCCER: Lady Devils fall 10-1 to North Schuylkill; Paniagua scores program’s first goal

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS – While Thursday’s matchup was a lopsided one, it included a key milestone for Shenandoah Valley’s girls’ soccer program: the first goal.

That was scored by Leslie Paniagua with less than 8 minutes remaining in the game. At that point, the Devils’ had been trailing North Schuylkill 9-0.

Thursday’s game — Shenandoah Valley’s second ever for the girls program — was solidly North Schuylkill’s

The Spartans scored early and often, with Mya Conti earning a hat trick.

Alexa Fletcher and Taylor Shadle added 2 goals to the total, while Julisa Rivera, Gianna Capone, and Nancy Gasca each also had goals.

North Schuylkill moves on to host Hamburg Saturday morning, while Shenandoah Valley’s next game is Saturday at the Central Columbia tournament.
