MAHANOY CITY – For another year, the Damato/Szematowicz Trophy will stay in Mahanoy City, as the Golden Bears defeated Shenandoah Valley 45-20, and advance to the District XI playoffs.

The Bears needed a win, and a loss by Palmerton to make the playoff field, and, as the Blue Bombers fell 47-21 to Northern Lehigh, their fate was sealed.

Shenandoah Valley was seeking their first win on the season, and finish the 2018 season winless.
