HS BASKETBALL: Mahanoy boys outlast Devils, 72-55

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Valley’s boys basketball squad kept Friday’s game close until late, as the Devils celebrated Senior Night at the high school gym.

The Devils hosted rival Mahanoy Area for the matchup.

Prior to the game, Shenandoah Valley’s senior players and cheerleaders were recognized, as were Mahanoy Area’s.

Shenandoah Valley trailed by three early in the third quarter, and holding a four-point deficit entering the final frame with a score of 50-54 in the Golden Bears’ favor.

Mahanoy would widen the gap in the fourth, holding the Devils to four points, taking a 70-54 victory.

The Devils, now 6-15, have one game left in the season, a road trip to the Hegins Valley to face Tri-Valley on Tuesday.

Mahanoy Area, now 17-4, second in District XI 2A, hosts Marian Catholic for their regular season finale the same day.
