Halloween window painting tradition continues for North Schuylkill students

RINGTOWN – Across the North Schuylkill School District, windows are becoming a bit more spooky in time for Halloween.

The tradition dates back over six decades as students from grades 7-12 at the North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School participated.

It is also a competitive contest judged by the school’s art teachers, awarding a grand prize, 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and honorable mention to the best windows.

Businesses and community organizations in Ringtown, Girardville, Ashland, and more all participated.

In the Ringtown area, the Sentinel found 8th grader Adelarei Ewing-Puckette, of Frackville, decorating the Union Township Municipal Building, and sophomore Lyla Salvadore, of Ringtown, working on the Ringtown Library’s window.

This year’s theme was “Hippy Halloween.”
