Dobeck crowned homecoming queen at Mahanoy

MAHANOY CITY – The Mahanoy Area High School crowned their homecoming queen at Friday night’s football game.

Bree Dobeck received the honor from last year’s queen, Oceana O’Boyle, at halftime.

Dobeck is a drum major in the marching band, a cheerleader, and participates in a host of other activities.

Along with crowning a queen, Mahanoy Area also selects two other candidates for Homecoming Court. Selected for those roles were Morgan Denchy and Abby Herrejon

Prior to the game, the candidates participated in a parade through Mahanoy City along with the Mahanoy Area band, Mahanoy Area School District Police, youth football and cheerleading, and local fire companies.

Earlier in the day, the school crowned Lucas Karnish as homecoming king, as well.
