Crews fight overnight fire, wind, rain in Shenandoah Heights

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – At 2:13am Monday, fire crews from West Mahanoy Township, Shenandoah, Butler Township, and Mahanoy City were dispatched to 193 Ohio Avenue for reports of a structure fire.

Crews arrived to find fire in the rear of the duplex, which were brought under control within half an hour, despite an active wind advisory calling for wind gusts of up to 40 or 50 mph.

No word on if any were displaced or injured in the overnight fire, or the extent of the damage to property.

On scene were fire crews from Shenandoah Heights, Altamont, William Penn, Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook & Ladder and Columbia, Englewood, and Mahanoy City’s West End.
