Car nearly hits house on southside

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - The scene of a reported vehicle accident at 338 South Jardin Street as Shenandoah first responders were arriving.

SHENANDOAH – A mechanical failure nearly sent a car into a porch on Shenandoah’s southside Sunday evening.

The crash happened just before 7:00pm at 338 South Jardin Street.

Borough police at the scene said a Nissan Rogue was headed south, approaching Laurel Street, when it suffered some sort of mechanical failure, causing the driver to lose control.

The vehicle jumped the curb and narrowly avoided striking the porch of a row home at 338-340 South Jardin.

No injuries were reported in the crash, police said.

Also responding to the scene were firefighters from Shenandoah’s Columbia Fire Co.
