Are Shenandoah’s pierogies the ‘Coolest Thing Made In PA?’ You decide.

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Chris Dende, VP of Human Resources at Ateeco, Inc., emcees the National Pierogy Day flag raising in Shenandoah on Oct. 8, 2020.

SHENANDOAH – They’re a Shenandoah staple available nationwide, but are they the “Coolest Thing Made In PA?” The Pennsylvania Chamber wants you to decide.

Last year, Ateeco, Inc.’s Mrs. T’s Pierogies were runners-up in the 64-product bracket to a restaurant chain not found anywhere near here.

“From Hershey Bars to Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Zippo Lighters to Yuengling Lager, Crayola Crayons to Martin Guitars, the Keystone State is king in manufacturing – and we love to celebrate it,” the Chamber wrote on their website.

The competition includes 64 made-in-PA products and encourages voting via the PA Chamber’s X/Twitter page.

The first round began Tuesday and runs through Friday.

Mrs. T’s is matched up against Pampers Diapers, which are made in Mehoopany, near Tunkhannock.

The winner of that matchup will face either Middleswarth Chips, of Middleburg, or New Trail Brewing’s Broken Heels IPA, of Williamsport.

Yuengling Lager, Pottsville, is also in the bracket, along with Zimmerman Shoes/Kepner Scott Shoe Company, Orwigsburg.
