Police: West end man had sexual relationship, child with girlfriend’s teen daughter
SHENANDOAH – A West Penn Street man is facing a combined 130 counts of corruption of minors and child endangerment after borough police say he held a sexual relationship and had a child with his girlfriend’s 17-year-old daughter.
Borough Police Patrolmen Angel Abreu and Leo Luciani filed charges Friday against Ramon Gonzalez-Colon, 34, of 414 W. Penn Street.
In the complaint, Abreu said police were notified of the conception and birth of a child by a 17-year-old.
Abreu said the father of that child was Gonzalez-Colon, and that the two had an ongoing sexual relationship “with certain sexual acts occurring” at 414 West Penn.
The two were members of the same household, with Gonzalez-Colon’s girlfriend being the victim’s mother. Abreu said there were numerous times Gonzalez-Colon was alone in the residence with custodial responsibilities for the victim.
Being between the ages of 16 and 18, police said the sexual acts “would corrupt or tend to corrupt the morals of the minor victim.”
Gonzalez-Colon is facing 100 counts of corruption of minors and 30 counts of endangering the welfare of children. He was arraigned Friday night before Magisterial District Judge David Rossi and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $50,000 cash bail.
Gonzalez-Colon will have to appear before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker in Shenandoah for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
