Firefighters respond to brush fire in North’d
KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A Mount Carmel Township fire chief gives direction to a Fountain Springs crew.
MOUNT CARMEL, Northumberland County – Firefighters from three counties are on scene of a brush fire here.
Crews were called around 8:30pm to the area of Chestnut and Buick streets for the fire.
Flames could reportedly be seen as far away as the town park.
Crews from Strong, Beaverdale, Wilburton, Lavelle, Fountain Springs, and more were called to the scene for the fire, which was on the mountain south of town.
ATVs and UTVs were called in to help access the scene, while crews staged at Hillside Drive and 7th Street.
Snake Road was closed between Ashland and Mount Carmel during the incident.
