Borough man transported after downtown crash
SHENANDOAH – A borough man was taken to a Pottsville hospital after a two car collision in downtown Shenandoah Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 7:30am at Main and Cherry Streets.
State Police at Frackville said a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 30-year-old Casey Margerum, of Shenandoah, and a 2007 Nissan Altima, driven by Joseph Pecika, 42, of New Boston, collided at that intersection.
Both vehicles came to a rest on the west side of the street, in front of the former M&T Bar, against a snow pile.
A passenger in the Nissan, 55-year-old Ronald Guinther, of Shenandoah, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill – East Norwegian Street in Pottsville for treatment of minor injuries.
Troopers said Margerum would be cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
