PSP: Minersville man crashes car, flees with drugs in box and rectum area
CASS TWP. – A Minersville man is in Schuylkill County Prison after state police say he crashed his car and fled with drugs in a metal box and elsewhere early Friday morning.
State Police at Frackville were called to Valley Road around 5:00am Friday for a single vehicle crash involving a 2020 Hyundai Accent.
Troopers reported that a witness “observed two individuals exiting the crashed vehicle and saying we need to get rid of these drugs.”
The two occupants of the vehicle, 33-year-old Brandon Kneas, of Minersville and an 18-year-old Pottsville man, ran into nearby woodlands carrying a large metal box.
Troopers took the duo into custody, finding and searching the box.
Inside, troopers said they found a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, a large amount of empty wax bags, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia.
Kneas later admitted to troopers he had more drugs hidden in his rectum area. A search of Kneas, troopers said, found methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin.
Kneas is facing charges of felony possession with intent to deliver, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI, as well as three summary traffic violations.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Rossi and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $25,000 bail.
The passenger will face a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, troopers said. According to online court documents, that charge has yet to be filed.
