SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – Ten-year-old Cam Petrushonis couldn’t have a party to celebrate his tenth birthday, so the Heights Fire Company and neighbors made sure his birthday would still be celebrated.

Fire sirens and car horns blared throughout Virginia Avenue in Shenandoah Heights Wednesday afternoon as the fire company led the parade of about a dozen cars past Cam’s house.

As the Heights’ Engine 36-11 turned onto Virginia from Seneca Street and activated its siren, Cam’s family lured him outside, saying they were on their way out to a fire call.

The engine, adorned with a banner from front to back reading “Happy Birthday Cam!!” passed his house as his face lit up, surprised.

Happy Birthday, Cam!
