Shenandoah man convicted in assault of gentlemen’s club dancer
WILKES-BARRE – A Shenandoah man accused of assaulting a dancer at a gentlemen’s club was convicted of aggravated indecent assault by a Luzerne County jury.
Miguel Antonio Nunez, 40, of Shenandoah, was found guilty Wednesday afternoon after a three-day trial.
He will be sentenced on April 2, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.
According to testimony, Nunez was a patron of the club when he bought private dances with the victim. During the dances, Nunez assaulted the woman while she repeatedly told him no.
The woman underwent an examination that confirmed the assault, and led to identification of Nunez as the attacker.
“The facts in this case show that the defendant did not have the victim’s consent to do what he did — that is assault, regardless of the setting,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I applaud the victim for having the courage to come forward and face her attacker and ensure he is held accountable for what he did to her.”
Nunez’s bail was revoked and he was remanded to Luzerne County Prison.
