First staged in London in 1973, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show is a high-energy musical that has become one of the most beloved cult sensations in theater history. Known for its outrageous characters, audience participation, and unforgettable rock ’n’ roll score, the show tells the story of clean-cut sweethearts Brad and Janet, who stumble upon the bizarre castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist with a flair for the dramatic.
Featuring iconic songs like “Time Warp” and “Sweet Transvestite,” the show is celebrated for breaking boundaries, encouraging self-expression, and creating an interactive theater going experience like no other. For fifty years, audiences worldwide have dressed up, shouted call-backs, and danced along—making every performance unique.
Tisha Demshock will serve as the show’s Narrator, guiding audiences through the wild events of the evening. The roles of the innocent couple will be played by Lisa Yurcho as Janet Weiss and Harold Roach as Brad Majors. Olivia Witcofski will bring her own flair to the role of Riff Raff, while Todd Statuto takes on the larger-than-life character of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Jason Reese will appear as Rocky, the Doctor’s unusual creation. Becky Nenstiel joins the cast as Magenta, Jennifer Hart will play Columbia, and David Moses will step into the role of Eddie. Carl Rumbel will round out the main ensemble as Dr. Everett V. Scott.
The production will also feature a lively ensemble of Transylvanians, including Leiloni Verges, Liza Verges, Lacey Johnson, Olivia Dudeck, Kaylee Chyko, Nicole Petrylak, and Jason Zuber.
To mark this milestone, the Nuremberg Community Players will offer five themed alcoholic drinks, available at each performance for $5.00 each (cash only). Identification is required.
Audience members can also purchase Rocky Horror prop bags for $5.00, adding to the full participation experience that fans of the show love.
As the longest continuously running, fully volunteer, nonprofit theater in the area, the Nuremberg Community Players remain committed to supporting their neighbors. During all three performances, they will be collecting nonperishable food and personal care items for a local drive.
For each donated item, audience members will receive an entry into a drawing to win free tickets to upcoming productions. The more items you bring, the more chances you have to win—while also lending a hand to those in need.
With outrageous choreography by, Mandy Bisco, an amazing cast, and a full live band, you are not going to want to miss this show. The Rocky Horror Show promises to be an unforgettable night at the theater.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or experiencing the show for the first time, the Nuremberg Community Players’ production is the perfect way to celebrate 50 years of Rocky Horror magic.
