NUREMBERG – North Union Township has a police officer again.
“We did not hire a new police officer. He is our old police officer,” Supervisor Gail Zola said at Monday’s meeting.
Fred Lahovski returned to the force, Zola said. He’s a former Girardville police chief.
Zola said Lahovski will be working ten hours a week or so and that he worked during the Nuremberg Celebration over the Labor Day weekend.
Supervisors said he is making around $26.40/hr.
“We’ll be back to at least having one officer around,” Zola said. “I know people were starting to complain a little bit more.”
The department has been a small part-time force for years.
In other business, supervisors approved three bills to be paid for recent roads projects.
