Frackville man cited in Conyngham Twp. crash

CONYNGHAM TWP. – A Frackville man was cited for his role in a two-vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital last weekend.

State Police at Bloomsburg said the crash happened around 12:42pm Saturday on Route 42 at the entrance to the Roaring Creek Trail.

Troopers said Drew Miller, 20, of Frackville, was headed northbound on Route 42 in a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta.

He began to pass a vehicle ahead of him in a passing zone as Jon Karmilowicz Jr., 58, of Coatesville, was ahead and turning left into the Roaring Creek Trail parking lot in a 2020 Ram truck.

Miller tried to avoid the crash by veering left, to no avail.

Both vehicles were disabled, troopers said.

Karmilowicz and his passenger, 56-year-old Christina Karmilowicz, were taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for minor injuries.

All were wearing their seatbelts.

Millers’ car was towed by Klischer’s of Aristes and Karmilowicz’s truck was towed by Steve’s Towing, Shenandoah.

Miller was cited for speeding and unsafe passing.
