NUREMBERG – Are You Being Served? the show that was postponed back in March of 2025 after a tragic accident by one of the cast members, from which she has fully recovered, is finally ready for its debut!

All the innuendo, misunderstandings, mistaken identity and farce of the popular TV comedy series Are You Being Served? are being brought to the stage in all their original glory at Nuremberg Community Players on August 15, and 16 at 7pm and August 17 at 3pm.

Todd Statuto is once again directing this British comedy that was a smash hit on the NCP stage back in 2021.

Joan Hooper is the stage and lighting assistant and Barbara Bartusik will be the costume designer. The backstage crew is Kris Birshell, Kathy Rhoades and Michelle Wysoski. Sound is under the direction of Millie Collins with special effects by Shawn Anderson.

The stage version of the show is written by the show’s creators David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd.

Double-entendres fly as the motley crew of Grace Brothers department store, including the flamboyant Mr. Humphries, being played by Bobby Maso, Mrs. Slocombe, portrayed by Brenda Sachleben, Captain Peacock played by Carl Rumble and Miss Brahms played by Becky Nenstiel, prepare for a sale of German goods.

They head off for a staff holiday at a one-star Spanish hotel and only have a nun’s habit, bowler hat and pair of Union Jack knickers to survive – everything remains intact except their modesty. Grouchy Mr. Grainger played by Shawn Anderson, oversees the men’s department, aided by hopeless salesman Mr. Lucas played by Todd Statuto.

The rest of the cast is rounded out by Wayne Seely as Mr. Grace, Jaiden Larizzio as Mr. Rumbold, Eric Pugh as Mr. Mash, Jacob Sachleben as Don Bernardo, Michael Lloyd as Caesar, Sarah Lloyd as Conchita, Tisha Demshock as Taeresa and the Busty Customer, Jason Reese as the Male Fur Customer, Jenn Hart as the Nurse, Lisa Yurcho as the Secretary and a French Customer, Adam Yurcho and Dave Moses as the Arabs, and Evan Perry-Giblin as the accordion Player.

Are you Being Served? is an extremely funny play based on the BBC TV sitcom ‘Are You Being Served?’. The series of 69 programs lasted from 1972 until 1985, regularly attracting more than 20 million viewers per show.

Due to some mature situations and adult language, this production might not be suitable for younger or more sensitive patrons.

Shows are August 15 and 16 at 7pm and August 17th at 3pm. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 877-718-7894.
