Grant funds awarded to improve Brandonville roads

BRANDONVILLE – Grant funding will help improve roads in this village, township officials said Monday.
State Rep. Dane Watro (R-116) announced $100,000 in funds awarded to East Union Township from the Multimodal Transportation Fund.
Township officials said that funding is earmarked for roads in the Brandonville area.
“We used to be a grant-funding desert but now the money is flooding in,” the township said in a Facebook post. “These grants wouldn’t be possible without a great team at the local and state levels working together to bring this back for all of us who call East Union Township home.”
Specifics regarding the planned road improvements were not available Monday evening.
