State Police continue to seek Hazleton area murder suspect
HAZLETON – State troopers are still seeking a man wanted in connection with a fatal Hazle Township shooting.
Eliezer Santana, 18, is wanted on criminal homicide and felony aggravated assault charges for a 2023 shooting that left an 18-year-old dead.
State Police at Hazleton were called to Professional Auto Repair on West 23rd Street in the township on April 14, 2023 for a reported shooting.
There, 18-year-old Rolando K. Cepeda had been shot multiple times. He later died.
Santana was one of three people involved, troopers said.
The other two — Ismael Valdez Batista, of Mahanoy City, and Reymer Gonzales, of Hazleton — were arrested.
Batista pleaded guilty to attempted homicide in September. Gonzales is awaiting trial.
Santana remains at large.
