NUREMBERG – The Nuremberg Community Players’ will present the hilarious mystery/comedy, “The Boardinghouse” at the Emerson Theater on Nov. 1, 2, and 3

The laugh out loud antics take place at the Home Sweet Home Boardinghouse where life is anything but normal.

The matriarch of the home, Miss Harriet, played by Rebecca Shuman, runs the home with her newly hired, anxious, and petrified maid, Tweenie, played by Kayde Weikel.

The home has a zany cast of boarders. Mr. Richards, played by Carl Rumbel, is an over dramatic poet who looks for writing inspiration in the most unusual ways. Next is Gladys Klotz, played by Kris Birshell, a taxidermist and spiritual advisor with a direct line to the spirit world. Martha Willis, played by Deb Cushman is a cheerful hypochondriac having every imaginable disease known to man. Ivy, played by Tisha Demshock, is a free-spirited artist who enthusiastically paints anyone who will let her. Ivy’s exhausted nursemaid, Hortense, played by Kate Gebhart, tries to keep up with Ivy with little success.

A mysterious couple arrive at the boardinghouse: the suave, charming and mysterious Dirk Shadow, played by Matt Pretti, and his caretaker sister, Veronica, played by Yamilet Tineo Duran. The sibling’s plan is to secretly search and find Captain Schnook’s legendary pirate treasure buried in the basement. But is it? Helping to unravel the mystery and the maladies of the tenants amidst the madness is the absentminded, retired practitioner “I-have a-cure-for-everything” Dr. Sni-Fell played by Jaiden LaRizzio.

“The Boardinghouse” by Vern Harden is under the direction of Kathy Rhoads, assisted by Diane Rumbel. The show is set for one weekend only, Friday & Saturday, November 1 and 2 at 7 pm, and Sunday, November 3 at 3 pm at the Nuremberg Community Player’s Emerson Theatre, 283 Hazle Street, Nuremberg, PA.
