Comcast expands service in central Schuylkill
PORT CARBON – Media giant Comcast announced this week that they have expanded in several communities in central Schuylkill County.
The company says that more than 3,500 more homes in Palo Alto, Port Carbon, Saint Clair, East Norwegian Township, and New Castle Township now have access to their services.
“With Xfinity and Comcast Business Internet, TV and mobile services, our local communities have vital access to the products and tools they need,” said Scott Krater, Port Carbon Borough Council President, in a press release. “Comcast’s commitment to local growth and community investment is important and we’re glad to see them in Port Carbon and the surrounding areas.”
Comcast says they now serve more than 40 of Schuylkill County’s 67 municipalities.
Residents can visit Xfinity.com and businesses can visit ComcastBusiness.com to see if their address is eligible for service. The nearest Xfinity store is in the Lebanon area.
“In addition to our growing service footprint we also proudly operate a Lift Zone, which offers free WiFi service to promote digital skills and education, at The Salvation Army Corps Pottsville,” said Ricky Frazier Jr., Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Keystone Region, which is based in Pennsylvania. “We’re committed to keeping people connected while also investing in closing the digital divide.”
