Two found dead near New Philly; unclear if connected to two reported missing

NEW PHILADELPHIA – Two people were found dead near here the same night State Police released information on two people reported missing from here.

The bodies were found around 3:30am Tuesday morning on Ferndale Road about a mile east of Route 209 in New Philadelphia.

State Police at Frackville did not release the victims’ names, though they were pronounced dead at 6am.

The Troop L Major Case team is investigating.

The discoveries came within an hour of a State Police media release that two people from New Philadelphia were missing, but troopers have not said whether or not they are connected.

Troopers released information on the missing persons at 2:50am.

Hunter Mock was reportedly last seen at his home on Wetherill Street around 3:30pm Monday and left on foot in a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and white/red sneakers.

He is described as a 6’1″ 155lb white male.

Angelito Xavier Caraballo was also reported missing and was last seen at his home on Sunday at 8pm. Described as a white hispanic male with brown hair, brown eyes, standing at 5’11” and 165lbs, he was last seen wearing a black hoodie with ears on the hood, black or red sweatpants, and black Nike sneakers or black Crocs.
