Zoners deny multiservice business at East Centre home
SHENANDOAH – A proposal to open a multiservice business in a home on the east end was denied by the Shenandoah Zoning Hearing Board Tuesday afternoon.
Gorbachyou Weekes requested the commercial use at 414 East Centre Street to open a multiservice business, offering tax services, money transfers, notary, among other things, according to Zoning Board Chairman Charles Vascavage.
The matter required zoning board approval because it sits in a residential zoning district.
The home has no handicapped accessibility, Vascavage said, and has no qualifying side entrance.
Weekes was not present at the beginning of the hearing when his proposal was considered.
“If he puts handicapped accessibility in there, we can re-address it,” Vascavage said.
The board voted to deny the proposal.
