Two cars collide, one hits house in Coal Twp.

COAL TWP., Northumberland County – No major injuries were reported when two cars collided and one struck a house near Shamokin Saturday.

The crash happened around 5:00pm at Tioga and Sherman Streets in the township.

Coal Township Police said the crash was under investigation and had few details to share at the scene.

Two cars — a Chevy Malibu and Nissan Altima — collided on Sherman Street, and the Malibu struck the porch of 335 Sherman Street.

Only minor bruises were reported, police at the scene told the Sentinel.

Dave’s Towing, Kulpmont, removed the vehicles.

The porch of the home had to be shored up after the crash.

Responding along with Coal Township Police were firefighters from the Brady Fire Co. of Ranshaw, the East End Fire Co., and Coal Township Rescue.
